15 Minutes Blog Tour

Synopsis:
15 Minutes
I have 15 minutes to save my mother’s life….
15 minutes is all the Rewind Agency gives you in the past, but for Lara Crane it’s enough time to race through the city, find her mother, and stop her from being killed in a mugging that happened over ten years ago.
But that’s not how it happened. The story she’s been told all her life is a lie and when Lara takes a bullet meant for her mother, her future changes forever.
The love of her life acts like a stranger. Her simple life is replaced with a giant house, glamorous clothes and a new boyfriend.
Except someone knows her secret. And he will try to stop her at every turn as she races against the clock to unravel a dangerous conspiracy.
15 Minutes is an edgy high octane YA thriller that can be described as Back to the Future meets Inception where the people Lara trusts change in an instant. She is in a timeline she doesn't understand, and is about to make one fatal mistake as she faces an enemy so familiar, he’s family.

 15 Minutes Review:

“15 Minutes” by Jill Cooper is definitely a whirlwind story. This story is about Lara, a girl that travels back in time to save her mother’s life. There are rules. You can’t interact with the past because it is against the law. Not to mention anyone should be able to interact with the past. You are an observer but the people around you cannot see you. Lara finds out that she is different and she can touch the past. Lara goes back in time to try to save her mom from being murdered.

I have a love/hate relationship with this book. I thought “15 Minutes” was amazingly well written. It was definitely a time traveling thriller. “15 Minutes” was great. It was definitely a fast paced novel. I had a hard time putting it down. I think I read the entire book while working in 4 or 5 hours. I was hooked.

I thought Lara was a great female lead character. Lara is a kick butt female character and she isn’t one who should be messed with. I wouldn’t want to mess with Lara. The secondary characters were also pretty awesome.  To go more in depth about these characters, I will have to share why I hate “15 Minutes.” I hate “15 Minutes” because it jumps all over the place. I would compare this to an extremely confusing inception game. This book jumps around kind of like “Inception.”  It was hard to figure out whether I was reading about the present, past, future, or some made up memory. Lara time traveled and she succeeded in saving her mom, but what she wasn’t expecting is that her entire life changed.

With everything that is going on in Lara’s mind and the present, she is trying to figure out what is real and what isn’t and as Lara is trying to figure everything out and how to fix her future. She saved her mom but now she has to try to save her dad. I think “15 Minutes” was great. I still feel slightly confused about what I read but I really liked it. I thought it was great. I saw that there was going to be a sequel, so I definitely want to check that out because I am very curious about how they may have continued the series.

I give “15 Minutes” four out of five bookshelves.
