In "The Next Forever," Lisa Burstein jumps to the future, showing the reader that Amy and Joe are away at college. During the first couple months of college, Amy and Joe have become pretty serious and they are trying to figure out where they are going in their relationship. Are Amy and Joe ready to grow up and become serious with each other? Both of them are having serious doubts in their relationship. Both of them have questions that they want answered. Amy and Joe each have their own journey to separate parties, to try to discover what they want in life and love. This story is told in a dual point of view. We get to be in the minds of both Amy and Joe and I wouldn't prefer it any other way. This story takes place during one Friday night as the two are away at university. I enjoyed Getting into Joe's head, it was definitely a unique experience. part of me hopes that Joe will one day get his own story. he is completely swoon worthy, i would love to get inside his head some more. Joe wants to be the devoted loving boyfriend that Amy needs but he also wants to experience university. Amy doesn't want to experience university, she just wants to survive it. Joe doesn't know how to balance both Amy and university.
I loved this little piece of extra information. I got to see how Amy and Joe turned out, which the ending is great! If you are a fan of "Pretty Amy" you should definitely pick this novella up. it is definitely worth it. I can also guarantee that you won't be disappointed. "The Next Forever" is placed in the "New Adult" genre rather than "Young Adult," mainly because our characters deal with university and the frat parties that come along with the experience. There is some gush worthy sexual tension in this book. I think Lisa Burstein did an amazing job writing an EverAfter novella for Joe and Amy. I was excited to get to read more of Joe and Amy's story. I fell in love with Amy's story and I was glad to see a small preview into Amy and Joe's future and I wish them all the best.
